  • In 1966 the World Cup was in England. Thieves stole the Cup and tried to sell it. It was later found by a dog called Pickles under a tree.
  • Nine months after Germany hosted the World Cup in 2006 their country’s birth rate increased more than 10 percent.
  • The oldest goal scorer in the World Cup was Roger Milla, who was 42 in 1994 when he scored a goal for Cameroon against Russia.
